Dr. Mvunabandi is a distinguished South African National Research Foundation (NRF) Y2-rated researcher and a Lecturer in the Faculty of Accounting and Informatics at the Durban University of Technology (DUT). He obtained his Ph.D. in Accounting Sciences from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in 2022 and has since been actively engaged in research, teaching, and mentorship. With extensive expertise in accounting, auditing, and forensic auditing education, he has published widely in both local and international peer-reviewed journals accredited by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). Additionally, he has supervised Master's and Ph.D. students and has chaired various conference sessions, and Emerging Scholar Colloquiums, contributing to critical scholarly discourse.
Dr. Mvunabandi teaches Financial Reporting, Accounting and Statistics, Applied Financial Accounting, Reporting Financial Performance, and Research Methodology across different academic levels. He is an active member of professional bodies, including the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (Associate) and the Institute of Business Advisors South Africa (IBASA). His research interests encompass forensic auditing, accounting and blue accounting, financial literacy, Finance, Banks and Investments, Integrated and Sustainability Reporting practices, entrepreneurship, and business studies. Passionate about knowledge dissemination, he remains dedicated to mentoring students and colleagues and advancing research in his field.
